Formed just over a year ago, the Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra (EMGO) is now actively recruiting new players. Led by Nigel Gatherer, one of Scotland's leading mandolin players and teachers, the orchestra enjoys music of all sorts - from Scotland to Latin America, from the Beatles to light classical.

The music is generally in 4 parts: 1st, 2nd and 3rd mandolins; and guitars. The orchestra is a friendly group with people of all ages. Playing with it is fun and also a great way for members to develop their playing and music-reading skills.

At present the EMGO meets in Boroughmuir School, Viewforth, Edinburgh on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. For more information email Nigel Gatherer or phone him on 07715 064 061.
